Recipe Contest: Cheesy Does It

Chances are dairy good your recipe could win $500.

We’re smiling just thinking about the delicious dishes we’ll be sampling for our “Cheesy Does It” recipe contest.

Send us entries from across the cheese board—including hard, soft, fresh, aged and processed cheeses. We’ll consider any variety made with milk from cows, goats or sheep.

Perhaps guests are fond of your fondue or other appetizers like feta-stuffed artichokes, Gruyere cheese puffs or a warm goat cheese tart. Maybe you say “cheese” when serving a spicy pepper Jack soup or a cheesy potato.

Cheese-based entrees are also in demand. Comfort us with macaroni in cheddar sauce, mozzarella burgers or ricotta manicotti. How about asparagus salad with a blue cheese vinaigrette, or greens with grapes and Gorgonzola?

Don’t forget breads and baked goods made with cheese. Share your Parmesan corn bread, herb and Brie biscuits or Gouda muffins. Cheese for dessert? Tempt judges with strawberry cheesecake, chocolate Mascarpone mousse or cream cheese pecan pie.

Come on, cheese whizzes, show us how it’s done. Send recipes postmarked by our contest deadline, February 1, 2010. We’ll announce the winners in our October/November 2010 issue.

GREAT PRIZES!
The Grand Prize is $500 cash. The second-prize winner will receive $300, and third prize is $200.
The five runners-up will win a free year of Country Woman for themselves or a friend.
