—Ho-Ho-Holiday Business!
We’re looking for “elves” who have built a full-time or side business around the Christmas spirit, helping others make merry. Whether that’s you, or someone you know, we’re very interested in seeing some photos and learning a little more about the enterprising way you help keep the season bright.
Maybe you bake and sell special Christmas cookies or candy, in a bakery or in your kitchen, or cater holiday parties. Does your knack for décor lead you to design and put together lovely garlands, wreaths or floral arrangements for the holidays, or even put up light displays for others?
Do you take groups on country sleigh rides, silvery jingle bells ringing through the crisp winter air? Is yours the cutest Christmas shop in the village—or are you the maker of the ornaments or hand-fashioned toys that the shop sells by the dozens?
Or perhaps you handle Christmas shopping or wrapping for others, or direct holiday musicals or other events. Maybe you supply local churches with the exotic animals for their living Nativity.
Whatever it is, we’d like to learn more. Write up a short description and include a few photos. E-mail or send via postal mail to “Ho-Ho-Holiday Business” following Contributor’s Guidelines. If your story or photo is published, you’ll get priceless publicity—and a free year’s subscription to CW, besides!
Gingerbread Jr.
Baking gingerbread houses together is a cherished tradition in many families, as entries in our Gingerbread House Contest proved. A number of them featured sweet shots of kids proudly showing off their own projects, and we’d love to see more!
So please share your digital images or prints showing young bakers (under 18, please) and their creations, either from a kit or of their own design. These don’t have to show the finished project, either—if you’ve got a priceless “in-progress” shot of a determined toddler sticking colorful candy on the house, please send it along!
Follow the Contributor’s Guidelines, and E-mail or mail to “Gingerbread Jr.” at the address specified. If your photo is used, we’ll help you stuff your young artist’s stocking, by sending you a $20 check.
